Owner / Manager
This is John Darling, owner and flooring manager of Sandpoint Furniture Carpet One Floor and Home. He is a 4th generation Sandpoint native and has been involved in the business for 25 years. He has a passion for the flooring industry and his motto is to treat every flooring project as it’s his parents’ home. He is committed to learning and understanding new products and is highly respected for his knowledge in floor covering and installation. John has been involved in many community groups and events in his 50 years in Sandpoint. He has coached youth sports programs, served his communities on City Council for 11 years, and participates in annual fundraising events. He enjoys all 4 seasons in North Idaho with his family by spending it outdoors: hunting, fishing, skiing, and riding his UTV. He is a passionate outdoorsman, but his first love is his wife Debbie and their three children Rylee, Mya, and Evan.

Sales Manager
As the Sales Manager at Sandpoint Furniture Carpet One, I am passionate about helping customers transform their homes with flooring solutions that are both beautiful and built to last. Every day, I guide clients through the flooring selection process with expert advice, product knowledge, and personalized solutions. From design inspiration to final installation, I make sure every detail is handled with care so they can feel confident and excited about their new space. Outside of work, I enjoy the outdoors—riding my Side by Side, camping, boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, or snowmobiling. Family is a big part of my life, and my wife Debbie and I are proud grandparents, which has brought a whole new level of joy and adventure to our lives.

Installation & Quality Control Manager
Terry Haney is a third-generation craftsman with over 20 years of experience in flooring, tile, and finish installation. As Installation and Quality Control Manager at Sandpoint Furniture Carpet One, Terry oversees every phase of the installation process—ensuring that each project is completed to the highest standards of quality, precision, and customer satisfaction. Terry works closely with our installation crews, designers, builders, and clients to keep projects running smoothly and on schedule. He also trains and mentors our teams to maintain consistency and craftsmanship across every job. He brings deep technical expertise in advanced systems like Schluter waterproofing, Ditra Heat, and decorative tile design—along with a hands-on work ethic passed down through generations of skilled tradespeople in the Haney family. For Terry, great work starts with great values: do it right the first time, take pride in every detail, and treat each home or business like it’s your own. Outside of work, Terry enjoys spending time with his wife Shelley, along with their family and friends.

Hello! I’m Alicia Holt, and I’ve proudly served as the Director of First Impressions at Sandpoint Furniture Carpet One for the past 11 years. I love helping our wonderful community find the perfect flooring solutions to make their houses feel like home. Born and raised in beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho, I feel incredibly fortunate to live and work in such a special place. I’m 38, happily married to my amazing husband, also a lifelong local, and together we’re blessed with four wonderful kids and a beautiful granddaughter. Every day, I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with our customers, be part of this supportive community, and do work that brings comfort and beauty into people’s lives.

Office Manager
I’ve been proud to call Sandpoint home for over 30 years and have had the privilege of serving this community in various roles—from banking and escrow to customer service. For the past 11 years, I’ve been part of the Carpet One family, where I work behind the scenes to manage costing, billing, payroll, and a variety of accounting tasks. I take pride in being a dependable resource for both our employees and customers, helping keep everything running smoothly. Being part of a family-owned business that’s deeply rooted in our community means a lot to me, and I’m committed every day to supporting our team and customers with care and professionalism. When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my husband Zeb, family, and friends. I’m also passionate about coaching softball, leading both high school and travel teams, and I enjoy exploring the outdoors, especially our beautiful national parks.

Building a new home is one of life’s most exciting and rewarding journeys—and I love being part of that process. With years of experience in the construction and design industry, my goal is to make every step smooth, enjoyable, and inspiring for my clients. I work closely with homeowners and their builders to select products that bring beauty, comfort, and functionality to each space. From the first design meeting to the final installation, I provide detailed budgets and clear documentation to help ensure the project runs seamlessly. I grew up in Noxon, Montana, and after moving to Sandpoint 25 years ago, I’ve continued my career in construction and design, spending the last 12 years at Sandpoint Carpet One. Outside of work, you’ll likely find me outdoors golfing, hiking, camping, or fishing with my husband, or spending time in the garden or experimenting in the kitchen.

Since moving to Sagle in 2004, Joy has embraced the small-town charm she was searching for. As a Project Manager with Carpet One, she’s committed to building lasting relationships—one project at a time. She is a 5 Diamond Certified Floor & Home Consultant, reflecting her expertise and dedication. When she’s not working, Joy enjoys giving back through her church, hiking North Idaho’s scenic trails with her husband Raymond, and spending time with their two German Shepherds, Phoenix and Boomer.

I'm Ben Medeiros, a Sales and Design Project Manager at Carpet One with over 20 years of experience in construction, flooring, sales, and project management. I enjoy managing projects from start to finish—helping customers find the right product, setting expectations, and keeping everything on track. I focus on under-promising and over-delivering, with a sharp eye for detail. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife of 30 years and our four kids, staying busy with sports, outdoor activities, and riding my Harley whenever I can.

Now, I feel like I’ve truly found my home with the Ponderay Design Center, Sandpoint Furniture, Carpet One, and Selkirk Glass & Cabinets. Outside of work, I enjoy giving back to the community, spending time with my kids and grandchildren, and participating in local theater productions.

Flooring and tile are some of the most impactful parts of completing a beautiful project. I enjoy collaborating with clients, sharing in their vision, and helping bring their dream to life. Project management is a natural fit for me; I thrive on communication, hitting deadlines, and keeping things running smoothly. I grew up helping my dad in general residential construction, sparking a lifelong passion for building. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, coaching Little League baseball, playing golf, basketball, and enjoying the outdoors with our two German Shepherds.

Purchasing
I’ve always believed that the best businesses are built on family values, strong community roots, and genuine care for people. For me, it’s not just about placing orders or managing purchasing; it’s about making sure our sales team has what they need and ensuring every detail is handled with care. Sandpoint has been my home for nearly 30 years. Outside the office, you’ll find me serving with Freedom House Inc., attending sports events, or enjoying the outdoors with my family.

With over 25 years of experience in the flooring industry, I bring a deep understanding of both the wholesale and retail sides of the business. I began my career at T&A Supply, where I spent 16 years developing expertise in warehouse operations, branch logistics, and customer service—eventually managing the order desk. After transitioning to retail, I joined Carpet One, spending the last 9 years expanding my skills in residential and new construction projects. Outside of work, I’m passionate about coaching high school girls basketball, bringing focus, leadership, and team-building to the court as in professional life.
